We have partnered with Ground Control to provide the manufacturing and shipping of this design. With the purchase of this frame, we provide all CF and Hardware for the frame. Our production goal for this frame is 3 - 5 days but can be affected buy work load at the time of the order.
For any 3d printing needed for the frame, please check out https://www.brain3d.co/ and they will help with anything you need.
A new breed of cinewhoop designed to tackle shots that need a little extra power while maintaining proper protection. Takes 16x16 or 12x12 motors, and 30x30mm or 20x20mm stacks.
-Price includes the carbon fiber plates and hardware.
**Please note that this frame is designed to use “4s motors” with a 6s battery, but more on that below.
If you’ve ever built and flown a cinewhoop with 14xx or 15xx motors, you probably had hot motors, and it also probably flew like crap. You also probably spent weeks, maybe even months, tuning it and to this day you aren’t fully satisfied with how it flies. ‘But who cares, it’s supposed to be slow and smooth and not something that can fly like a 5”. It’s purpose-built.’ And to that we say, you’ve been brainwashed. Your cinewhoop doesn’t need to be a slow flier with high expo, it doesn’t have to be doomed to be an overweight underpowered 3”, it can be so much more.
Introducing the Ground Control FPV Catalina 3” Cinewhoop. A guarded 3” cinewhoop that provides mounting for 16x16 and 12x12mm motors, takes a 20x20 or 30x30 stack, M3 Hardware all around, and has a rear M2 20x20 for DJI Vista Unit*. By having mounting for 16x16 motors, it opens up the possibility of using stator sizes that traditionally aren’t able to be used. By using larger stators, the quad can not only put down more torque than 14xx or 15xx motors, but it is also able to dissipate the heat better. The effect of this is a smooth flight characteristic without hot motors and performance that is unmatched by traditional 14xx or 15xx cinewhoops. This is because the increase in stator volume allows for more speed changes with less temperature build-up, thus providing better PID response and best of all minimal tuning. The reason it’s necessary to increase the kv is that we are decreasing the prop circle, and thus the load by using a 3” prop on a motor traditionally thought of as a 5” motor. By increasing the kv we increase the maximum rpm of the prop and thus increase thrust.** Say goodbye to tuning nightmares and smoking hot motors, and say hello to the Ground Control FPV Catalina 3.
Recommended Hardware:
- Motors: 22xx or 23xx 2450-2750kv motors (6s)**
- FC: Hobbywing F7
- ESC: Hobbywing 60a 4in1 ESC
- Video: DJI Vista
- Control: TBS Crossfire
- Battery: 1200-1550mah 6S LiPo
- Props: HQProp 76mm 8 Blades
*Note: Vista only, air unit may fit, but has not been tested and only stands to increase AUW, so we are recommending the DJI Vista VTX ONLY
Note: We are not the designer and are not responsible if the frame is not as you hoped. We only cut the files provided and it's your responsibility you do your research about the frame before purchasing. Frames are all custom cut and are started once an order is placed. If you have any questions or concerns, please message us at
